NO PETROL – EVER

The Nissan LEAF is 100% electric. That means it is powered exclusively by an advanced lithium-ion battery pack that you can charge at home or in the course of your journey. Hybrids, meanwhile, have a heavy petrol engine in addition to their electric drivetrain.

ABSOLUTELY ZERO EMISSIONS

The Nissan LEAF emits no CO₂. In use it is therefore a zero emission vehicle – although its overall contribution to a cleaner environment obviously depends on the method of generating the electricity on which it is run. This will vary from country to country.

LOW CENTRE OF GRAVITY

With its battery pack in the floor, the Nissan LEAF has a low centre of gravity that improves the car’s handling. The configuration also allows a more roomy interior, as the battery does not eat into passenger space or the luggage area.

AERODYNAMIC EXTERIOR

Aerodynamic efficiency helps wring the maximum range possible out of the Nissan LEAF and also helps make the vehicle as quiet as possible inside. The drag coefficient is just 0,28 – and the low-rolling-resistance tyres help reduce energy loss.

LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

The Nissan LEAF's headlamps are designed to maximise aerodynamic efficiency. LED lights, standard on the Tekna, use half as much energy as traditional headlamps.

The Nissan LEAF's Hill Start Assist system makes hill starts easy, by automatically applying the brakes whenever you stop on a hill. As you operate the accelerator the brakes will release and you’ll pull away smoothly. It’s advanced technology that makes everyday driving that much better.

EVEN BETTER BATTERIES

The British-made lithium-ion battery pack stores its power in 48 lithium-ion modules that fit snugly in the floor. Alongside the proven 24 kWh battery pack the LEAF is also available with a new 30 kWh pack that gives extra range and has a longer life.

BATTERY RECYCLABILITY

The Nissan LEAF’s lithium-ion battery pack is 99% recyclable – which is more than you can say about a conventional car’s battery. At the end of its service the LEAF’s battery pack is dismantled and its components sorted before being given a second life.

EIGHT-YEAR BATTERY WARRANTY

NO WORRIES ABOUT GOING ELECTRIC

Over and above the standard three-year warranty, your LEAF's propulsion system is covered for five years or 96560km by Nissan’s EV warranty. This includes the battery, electric motor, inverter unit, VCM, reduction gear, DC/DC converter, onboard charger and connector, and the trickle-charge cable. On top of this, Nissan LEAFs with the new and more powerful 30 kWh battery pack have an 8 year / 160000km (100000 miles) warranty for the lithium-ion battery. This warranty also protects against capacity loss of more than 25% – 9 bars out of 12, as shown on the capacity gauge – for a period of 5 years or 96560km, whichever occurs first.
